Shannon and Greg have a really cute story. They were best friends in high school and stayed close through college, eventually realizing that they were secretly in love with each other. They dated, eventually parted ways, and then reconnected via Facebook many years later. They made cross-country plans to meet up for New Years Eve and it was a done deal… they belonged together. I got to know Shannon and Greg on the ferry ride out to Nantucket and I concur! I’m am looking forward to their wedding in September! Here are a few favorites from our session:

Robin and Kevin picked the best day of spring so far for their wedding at The Publick House Historic Inn. It was a great start to what will be an amazing 2013 wedding season. More soon, of course.

Ahh February… finally a little bit of downtime for MDP and my blog is showing it. I do have some fun weddings to share with you though! I second shot a few times this year and have been saving the photos for a blah winter day. In August, I helped out my friend, Alanna Scully, with Diana and Jay’s Chequessett Yacht & Country Club wedding in Wellfleet. Editing a few images from their summery Cape Cod wedding was just the thing to take my mind off the weather, at least temporarily. Here are some favorites:

Colleen & Ryan | Pinehills Plymouth Wedding

I spent New Years Eve photographing Colleen and Ryan’s wedding in Plymouth (at St. Peter’s and the Pinehills Golf Club). It was a perfect not-too-cold winter day and I was thrilled that we had a dusting of snow the ground! Thanks to Alanna Scully for ringing in 2013 with me (and for supplying me with cupcakes).

Colleen and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house, which is where I started the day:

I send a questionnaire to my couples about a month before their wedding. The questionnaire asks them to list any special details I might not otherwise notice. A great example of this is below. Colleen’s great-grandmother’s initials are embroidered on the inside of her fur cape and I made sure to capture it because Colleen let me know in her questionnaire : )

Colleen and Ryan chose to do a First Look so that they could have the majority of their formal photos done before it got dark (4:22pm on NYE)… a REALLY good idea for winter weddings!

I loved putting together this post. It was so much fun to look back at all the weddings I photographed this year! I had a really hard time choosing one photo to represent each wedding… so I didn’t : )

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m having a contest to celebrate the end of this awesome season! Stephanie & Matt | Red Lion Inn Cohasset Wedding

My blog has been very engagement-heavy lately! It’s time to change things up. I am very excited to share Stephanie and Matt’s South Shore wedding with you. Stephanie and Matt planned a vintage-inspired November wedding at the perfectly cozy Red Lion Inn.

When I first met with Jessica and Gary, they told me that they knew just the place for their engagement session. Jessica drives by a beautiful grove of trees on her way to work each day and thought it would make the perfect location. Well, it was! Turns out it was the other end of Larz Anderson Park! I spent a beautiful fall afternoon in Larz Anderson Park with Aubree and Andrew. This is another one of those places that is really popular with photographers, but somehow I hadn’t had a session here up until this point. I did shoot a wedding reception at the Auto Museum last year but did not get to really explore the park until now! Gorgeous pick Aubree and Andrew : )

Susan & Bill | Back Bay Boston Engagement

I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving… I sure did! Susan and Bill’s engagement session is next on my list to share with you. These two live in Back Bay so we hit all the spots they are lucky enough to enjoy on a regular basis… the Comm Ave Mall, the Reflecting Pool, the Esplanade. Thank you guys for being so awesome even though it was a little chilly! Big thanks to Krystle too for driving us around and lending a hand : )
